The short version

Lutron doesn't cover everything, but keeps caseta outdoor smart plug and caseta products (except outdoor smart plug) covered to 5 years. That full coverage is the same as most of the 7 brands we compared, which typically cover nothing in full. You don't need to register to get this coverage.

From Lutron's published warranty, checked October 2026.

What it leaves out

  • Normal wear and tear
Good to know before you buy
  • Covers the original buyer only, and only if bought from an authorized seller.
  • Keep your receipt: proof of purchase is required.
  • Coverage starts when Lutron ships the shades, not when you buy them.
  • Labor to diagnose, remove or reinstall shades is not covered.
  • After 5 years Lutron gives only 50% credit toward replacement parts.
  • Shades or parts hidden inside walls or ceilings can void the warranty.
