Rinnai covers water heaters in full for 5 years, then keeps heat exchanger covered to 15 years. That full coverage is longer than most of the 11 brands we compared, which typically cover nothing in full. Some of this coverage only applies if you register the product.

- Registering within 90 days of installation raises labor coverage from 1 to 5 years.
- It must be installed by a Rinnai-trained professional.
- Coverage passes to a new owner, but only while the heater stays where it was installed.
- Scale build-up and poor water quality are not covered, so keep up with flushing.
